Ubuntu Edge: the Ubuntu smartphone requests $ 32 million

Apparently, Canonical has big plans and wants to venture into the field winding of iOS and Android smartphones with its Ubuntu Edge. Not content with being arguably the best-known Linux (and most installed) distribution, it has just launched an Indiegogo campaign and wants to bring a total of 32 million. This is the realization of its announcement a few months ago.

The Ubuntu Edge is the name of the device, which runs on Ubuntu and we reserve obviously full of surprise, especially since the really final specifications are not yet known, by May 2014 choice (especially for processors) will surely be very different. Accommodate a smartphone representative of the free world (although Android is open source) can not in any way be a good thing.

For now, Ubuntu has already reached $ 3 million which is quite impressive, it will continue at this rate by generating at least one million per day to reach the goal set. We wish Canonical achieve this goal, especially given that its smartphone adapts very well to those who are not a fan of Ubuntu Mobile system: it can indeed start in dual-boot Android.
